Exam Policy

SYL University Has Four Types of Examination

 

Mid-Term Exam: An exam which conducted mid of the academic semester and it is generally comprehensive in nature or sometimes limited to specific chapters and topics. This type of exam is offered in many forms at a specific time and place for students who registered to the course and is added to the final.

Final Exam: An exam which conducted at the end of the academic semester and it is generally comprehensive in nature or sometimes limited to specific chapters and topics. This type of exam is offered in many forms at a specific time and place for students who registered into the course.

Special Exam: This is an exam for students who have legible reasons not to attend both midterm and final exams. This type of exam is offered after a request of a faculty department for doing Special -exam at specific time and place for students who registered into a course and such student should have leave documents which indicates why he/she missed the exams and the students who are doing such exam will be charged. The result of this exam should be same as the sum of the Midterm and final exams.

Re-Exam: This is an exam for students who failed in both midterm and final. This type of exam is offered after a request of a faculty department for doing re-exam specific time and place for students who registered into a course and the students who are doing such exam will be charged. The result of this exam should be less than 20% the sum of the Midterm and final exams.

Exam Requirements

  • Each Student must take into account the rules of examination
  • Pay the fees and financial obligations that must be settled before sitting in the exam.
  • Each Students must carry on a valid and recognized ID card, and show it upon entering the exam/test center, and show it to the watchman or supervisors at any time required to prove his/her identity and Uniform.
  • The exam room will be open at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam to allow the investigator for check-in procedures.
  • Students must provide their own pens, pencils or any other stationary equipment.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring that they receive the proper subject for the examination.
  • The students are responsible for attending and arriving at the examination room on time as specified in the notice.
  • All Students have to sign in exam attendance sheet which will be circulated by the invigilator during the first thirty minutes of the examination. Those who fail to do so might have their exams disqualified.
  • No Students is allowed to enter the examination hall later than thirty minutes after the commencement of the examination.
  • No Students may leave the examination room during half time of the examination.
  • In the case of an emergency, students will be permitted to leave, however re-enter in the exam room is allowed only if accompanied by an invigilator.
  • Students will be given a minimum of two hours to answer the exam questions.
  • No additional time will be given to Students who are absent for part of the exam, regardless of the reason for their absence.
  • Exam times include check-in, reading of instructions, or the collection of exam materials at the conclusion of exams.
  • The supervisor will announce when 15 minutes are remaining for Exams, however, it is the student’s responsibility to complete the answer sheet within the proper exam time, regardless of whether or not the supervisor makes the time remaining announcement.
  • No additional time will be allowed for coding your answers after time has been called.
